2012 Eventing Master Class

Leading British and 2012 Olympic-hopeful event riders came together to give an Eventing Master Class to an audience of equestrian enthusiasts at Arena UK on Saturday 31 March. The impressive line-up included Oliver Townend, Piggy French, Polly Jackson, Tristram Owers, Lucy Wiegersma and Nick Gauntlett.

During the evening, the riders offered advice on how to train a horse and ride each of the three eventing disciplines: dressage, show jumping and cross-country. Using up-and-coming jockeys from the Belvoir Pony Club, in one session per discipline, they demonstrated top training techniques and passed on tips to help a horse and rider succeed in one of the world's most demanding sports.

The event, run in conjunction with Belton Horse Trials (Saturday 31 st March and Sunday 1 st April), was held in support of the Event Riders Association representing the interests of event riders.
